They're kept close to the ground in gameplay for obvious reasons, but in all actuality they really shouldn't have any issues. We found 20 that defy explanation and made more than a few fans scratching their heads in disbelief. This article covers aspects of the anime that are a little wonky without going into the manga. When the series began, Kagome had just turned years-old and was living on her family's Shinto shrine alongside her little brother, grandfather, and mother.
She quickly found herself embroiled in the events of the series back in Feudal Japan, which seems like a rather risky affair. While she would come and go as she pleased, back and forth through the well, her mother and grandfather barely batted an eye. In any normal family, it's highly unlikely that a year-old girl would have the freedom to go off and fight demons through a magical well in the past.
However, her grandfather and mother showed little to no interest in her safety. They knew what she was doing and just let her do it. The series quickly established who and what could travel through the Bone Eater's Well on Kagome's family grounds, but that list was limited. Kagome could make her way through to the past and back, but that was mostly it in terms of people.
When it came to inanimate objects, she could take whatever she liked. There was never a reasonable explanation given for why this was the case. Why could she transport things like her bicycle and schoolwork, but not another person? While this was obviously a plot device meant to limit who and what could make their way through the well, it doesn't stand up to scrutiny without an explanation.
The well should have worked to allow more people or demons to make their way through it, but that simply wasn't the case. When Kagome first traveled through the well, she found herself within a world very unlike the one she just left.
The land was rife with magic and demons, which remained the setting for the series. She even teamed up with a half-demon and battled many throughout her time in Feudal Japan. With so many demons just out and running about, it seems strange that there aren't any in modern-day demons in Japan.
So, what happened to them? On the surface, it seems Takahashi was meant to separate the time-periods into two different worlds, and while that makes sense for storytelling purposes, it doesn't make much logical sense.
They didn't destroy all the demons in the past so there really should be some demons in the 21st century. Similarly, magic seems to have lost its overall effectiveness and barely has a presence when it comes to the modern world. In the past, Miroku demonstrated a number of spiritual abilities with his spells, but those abilities seem to be only available to people in the past.
In the present, Kagome's grandfather has his various charms, but they don't deliver the same level of effectiveness as someone like Miroku in Feudal Japan. There isn't an explanation given as to why magic no longer exists in the modern world, but it could be that people like Kagome's grandfather simply lack the skill and ability to properly use it. Whatever the reason, it seems that there should be as much magic available in the present as there was in the past. This one may fall into the nitpicking category, but for anyone who struggled to learn to ride a bike, it was a bit odd to see someone like Miroku hop onto one and ride it about with little to no problems.
While most people learn to ride as children, even adults find it difficult to learn to ride a bike if they skipped their lessons in childhood. Knowing that, it doesn't make sense that a person who was born and raised in Feudal Japan could pick up a bicycle and ride it about as if it were second nature to him. Granted, Miroku possessed many skills and abilities, but the fact that he could ride a bike without any trouble doesn't make much sense when you think about it for more than a few seconds.
Kagome was a year-old Junior High School student and we all knew this because she wore the uniform In some ways, this was a costume, which identified the character, but it really didn't make much sense.
The uniform is hardly practical when it comes to traversing the dangers of Feudal Japan while hunting down shards and battling demons. Why didn't she simply change into something more practical? She had more than enough time and she had plenty of opportunities to throw on some pants and clothes that made sense, but she rarely changed out of her uniform. Perhaps she liked wearing it, but whatever her reasoning, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to traipse around Feudal Japan in a short skirt.
Demons weren't the only creatures present throughout Feudal Japan who seem to have vanished by the present era. The many monsters, or youkai, that roamed about the landscape throughout Feudal Japan are gone and mostly forgotten in the present. There was never any sort of explanation given for the disappearance of youkai with only a couple of exceptions. The Noh Mask and the Soul Piper were still about, but they were lost or hidden for a long time so they were likely missed by whatever catastrophe befell the monsters of old Japan.
Like the demons, they may have been separated from modern times to differentiate between the two worlds, but they may have succumbed to modern weapons as time advanced.
Unfortunately, no explanation was ever given so we just don't know. At one point in the series, we are introduced to the Fox Demon Exam, but the whole event seemed rather pointless and only served as a distraction or side-story that probably could have been left out of the series altogether.
The Exam is introduced when Inuyasha and his team hole up in an inn without knowing its the site of the Exam. There was still an hour left before you were being flown back to the compound so you had no idea who could be looking for you now. Do you mind if I come inside? You scowl wondering what he could be talking about until you peer past him and notice the God of Mischief lingering down the hall.
Loki is watching the interaction with deep curiosity but with no genuine interest. He does and you have to remind yourself to remain calm as you become overwhelmed with the emotions that Steve was feeling. It flooded over you intensely and the need to know the truth threatens to take over. So just Please let this go for now. You hate being left in the dark but this was your life now. Learning how to let the pursuit of the truth go in order to maintain the few relationships around you.
Steve seems to relax now but not entirely. We all know what happened the last time I was here and my power has grown since then. What if I lose control and bring down this whole building? I just I owe you an apology. There are better ways to handle the situation. We both respect each other enough to do that, right? With that said, you no longer feel overwhelmed by him.
Steve seems to be at peace for now. You say goodnight to him and Steve walks himself out. Your focus then shifts to your bag and with a sigh, you make your way towards it. You manage to only unzip your bag when you sense another presence in your room. One that you immediately recognize.
You look over your shoulder and watch as Loki looks through the pictures that are framed on your wall. You shake your head at him unwilling to play whatever game he was trying to incite. You remain silent unsure whether to ask him to clarify or confess yourself.
Loki seems to sense the battle in your mind and finally turns to look at you. I cannot nor will I ever hide the truth from you. While your friends try to spare your feelings, just know that I will not do the same.
You are strong enough to have the world be thrown at you and I will not belittle you with kind words because that is an insult to your character. Do best to remember that, little mortal. That his words come from very deep within him. You feel overwhelmed again. His emotions so clear to you. Even though she speaks positively of the future and especially of her love for Mei, when Towa was shown in the future, she was one unhappy girl.
She remembers them in a positive light -- Mama Moe and her violin after Towa comes home upset from yet another fight , her promise to Mei -- but we were SHOWN very little that was positive for Towa in that world. Not fighting again! Sesshomaru defied all expectations by giving up his title and status to marry and have children with not just a human woman, a human PEASANT -- she was no queen or noble like Izayoi.
Rin is a village peasant who according to the standards of the time as seen by Unagi , should have run screaming from a daiyokai. Instead, she marries him and has his hanyo children. From just a visual perspective, Sesshomaru is beautiful and feminine -- not quite what you would expect from a powerful warrior.
Rin is delightfully messy -- beautifully barefoot and feral. Can you imagine these two caring at all if their daughter chooses to do her own thing? Besides, as important as Towa must be to the Higurashis, I do feel like Moroha and Kagome should have some conflict about returning to the future.
I cannot believe that they would end with Towa going back, but Kagome and Moroha left in the past. Surely some solution will be found to make this a happy ending?
Insomnia has struck again and another night has passed, and so I have sifted through my files to once again bring you the fruits of my Sesskagu family brain rot. Kagura probably would have enjoyed being pregnant a little bit more had her children not been hanyou. The one good thing about having a rough pregnancy is that this provides the perfect excuse for frequent back rubs. And she knows he believes her when he presses a kiss to the mark.
But obnoxious is still obnoxious. Dealing with Lady of the West duties? Jaken is somewhere screaming about getting proper rest rather than just sitting around shooting the breeze. Preparing to travel outside of the estate? However, they do become roast bros. A-Un is just After the twins are born, A-Un is similarly gentle with Towa and Setsuna, and he has no qualms about being used as their personal playground. Kagura has a natural talent for navigating her way through the slaughterhouse that is yokai politics.
Fashion icon. Especially now that Inukimi is her mother-in-law. Their whole conversation essentially boils down to:. What can I say? She never doubted that she would love her children no matter what, but there were a lot of other uncertainties.
It was one thing for the unknown to befriend her as it so often did, it was an entirely different issue when it barred its teeth at her children. Holding the twins for the first time is a surreal experience. She practically sobs, happily so. When Setsuna is born a few hours later, the experience is just as sweet.
They never recover. For now, I think I might finally fall asleep! I know it's highly unlikely, but there are some sessrin shippers who are still doubtful about who's Sessh's wife so I wanna do this.
Let's assume Sesshy married an unknown human woman and Towa and Setsuna are her twins. Okay, cool. Let's further assume she's trapped somewhere like the OG cast. She would have to live seeing her husband shower gifts and favors on a beautiful young woman Rin.
She'd see him leave, knowing he was going to Rin's village to visit her and spend time with her. If Rin was even in a hint of danger, Sesshomaru would go flying to her. Heck, apaprently he even brought the wife to Rin's village for the birth even though he could afford the best physicians and midwives money can buy! And now they show Rin trapped in the tree, with Sesshomaru right outside.
He's worrying about her, and he's planning how to save her life again. That other human wife would have to live with the knowledge of Sesshomaru's deep strong affection for this woman.
And apparently nothing can stop him caring about Rin or putting so much thought, time and energy into being with her. My question is, why have another character fill that role and put them through so much unnecessary pain? How can 'Sesshomaru went down a different path than his father' in terms of having a human as his only wife, coexist with 'Rin is trapped in that tree and he will do anything to bring her back'?
Btw "he hit it and quit" is a laughable answer- anyone who knows Sesshomaru's character knows this. Riku, the mysterious person with a good smile and speaking words with profound meaning.
He enshrouds not only Towa and the others of course, but also the viewers in smoke. The figure of him showing a kind smile and talking quickly makes him seem like your typical nice guy at a glance. However, his speech has every bit of shadiness mixed in it. Most likely, he likened it to the story of the Adam and Eve written in the Old Testament; but why does he know about it when he lives in the Feudal Era?
Also, the part where it seemed that Kyuuki of the Four Perils and Riku knew each other is of interest. What exactly is the reason for him to go so far for the Rainbow Pearls…? While leaving a strong discomfort, it seems that Riku will be on the move again in episode 14 after disappearing from the center stage for some time. The strict prohibition on his words down to the details cannot be overlooked.
Riku The person who requested the subjugation of the Four Perils to the corpse shop. He lends money to Moroha and has her slay demons as repayment. He possesses the green Rainbow Pearl.
Takechiyo He can transform into a giant and fly the sky, so he runs around a lot as a means of transportation for Towa and the others. Miroku seems to be involved behind why Takechiyo works at the corpse shop. Towa She has a kind personality, but she does lose her sense of reason when her little sister, Setsuna, is in danger. As she is a half-demon, she loses her demonic powers and turns into a human at the start of the lunar month new moon.
Unlike Towa, she does not turn into a human at the start of the lunar month. Moroha A bounty hunter. Lately, she has been unable to retrieve the heads of the demons she defeats and collect bounties which has been the source of her worries.
Just like Setsuna, she does not transform into a human at the start of the lunar month. It appears that the green Rainbow Pearl that Jyuubee possesses also has something to do with Riku.
Riku and Towa met when a lost Riku asked her for directions. Then he introduced himself to Setsuna and Moroha after they fought Kyuuki. According to what Riku told Jyuubee, since he loves the Yashahimes, he is thinking of finishing them off himself. What is the reason…? Does he also have some sort of connection to Kirinmaru who controls the Four Perils? In episode 14, Riku gets involved with Tamano, an extraordinarily beautiful human girl, and the evil god who loves her but has an excessively burning jealousy, Homura.
A human and an evil god. Forbidden from revealing anything, even to his fellow voice actors?! The young man full of mystery, Riku. Fukuyama: It was a show that started around the time I started receiving roles in animation work as a voice actor. There were even talks of an anime adaptation. The work continued for many years and many of my fellow voice actors took part. Fukuyama: I did not.
It was a discussion that happened suddenly, but I received a direct inquiry. However, this time I got the role soon after I received the inquiry, so I was a little surprised. They explained to me his position within the work and what would happen to him before hand at the recording studio. Using that as the standard, during the first recording, I had a feeling they told me detailed points.
Fukuyama: Please look forward to finding out laughs. To viewers, I think this aspect will make them excited, uncertain, and anxious. Do you take care in that aspect when playing him? Fukuyama: When reading the script, I wanted to effectively capitalize on the foolish tone of voice.
As I continued to act like that, I think I started leaning towards the feel of an Edo person. The expression he shows Towa and the others, the Four Perils, and to other people are subtly different from each other so if I had completely contrasted those, his character image would probably have either changed or become blurred.
When I first started, I was glad the image kept me in check. Fukuyama: Yes. We record with people we interact with the most in that episode so the group changes with each time.
The first time, I was with Hosoya Yoshimasa who plays the role of Kirinmaru and then after that I was with Koyama-san Tsuyoshi who plays the role of Shikabaneya Jyuubee. Fukuyama: The episode where Riku debuted left a big impression on me. The difference in his behavior was fun to act out. For a first appearance he had a lot of information, so viewers were probably confused. I think you will understand the back and forth between them better if you rewatch it after watching more of the story.
That expression is also important. With that, I would like everyone to enjoy imagining what his position and future development will be. Among the latest upcoming episodes, episode 15 is a big one. Boy does he have the nerve to show this attitude in front of people laughs. Maybe Jaken getting his body pulled all over the place by the two babies is something that might appear in the main story.
It would be great if you can fully enjoy it until the end. The result that awaited him afterwards was impressionable. I watched without gaining information beforehand, so I felt moved in a sort of refreshing way. Yashahime hanyou no yashahime yashahime: princess half demon translation. Christmas had arrived and you had gone home to your family. You had left Severus at Hogwarts with a sweet kiss before you had boarded the train that would take you away from him.
It was hard, but you also missed your family and knew that time would fly by and you would soon be back with him at your second home, Hogwarts.
But, you had left with a secret. Something he would find out about as he woke up on Christmas Severus shivered, the dorm was cold and as empty as could be. He twisted and turned as he did not quite want to wake up. For what was the point? Another lonesome Christmas and who knew, perhaps you had figured out you were better off without him when you returned from your wonderful family.
He had no such thing, and did not know how a happy family looked. He did not know if he, in the future, could create such a thing for himself. He sighed deeply as he looked up towards the ceiling. He felt miserable now that he could not see you, be close to you, hold your hand or kiss your soft lips.
He couldn't quite figure out why. But it felt, well it felt as if you knew something that would change things and he was not so sure he liked what that could mean. You had seemed sad and a bit strange. No, he did not enjoy it one bit. He was scared out of his mind that you'd return only to end it all.
It was a constant fear, despite the fact you had been a pair for a couple of months now. Eventually, he had to leave the comfort of his bed.
He got up only to nearly stumble. Right by his bed. He arched a brow and bent down to pick it up. It was the only thing that stood on the little note stuck to the thoroughly wrapped gift. His heart pounded as the feel of the wrapping against his hands felt slightly odd. He had never gotten a Christmas present, not a wrapped one at least that he could remember. He stared at your handwriting as it filled him with a sense of joy to see his name written by your hand.
Ha stepped over to his bed and sank down atop it. A gift, for, me..? The thought floated through his head as his eyes watered a bit. He instantly felt guilty as he had not gotten you a Christmas gift.
He did not think for one second that you would get him anything so he didn't get you anything. What a fool he felt like at that moment. A selfish, stupid fool. It took him a moment to figure out that he was allowed to open the gift. That it truly was for him. From you.
His fingers shook ever so slightly as he gently unwrapped the gift, careful not to damage the paper where the little note sat with your writing on it. As the paper was placed on the bed beside him he was met with a box.
He opened that and yet another box appeared. He could nearly hear you giggling at him as he got more and more agitated by the multitude of boxes. Just as he was about to give up, just as he was about to believe it was a cruel prank and that you perhaps meant for him to feel duped he reached a box that appeared to be different from the others.
It looked like a jewellery box and he arched a brow at it. His hands trembled ever so slightly as he flipped the lid up only to be met with two cufflinks made of silver. They had SS engraved on them in softly curling writing.
His initials. He lifted the little box up to take a closer look. That's when he noticed a little note stuck to the top of the lid. He took it and unfolded it gently. He was met by your handwriting yet again. Severus, my Prince, one day I will make you see we are forever.
One day I will make you understand my love for you. In the meantime, you can try to destroy these. Do it, try to destroy them in any way you can think off. For, they shall never break, get scratched or turn dull. As long as I love you they shall remain pristine. Severus arched a brow at the note as he could her your sassy voice challenging him to give it a go.
So he placed the cufflinks on the bed before he grabbed his wand and tried to destroy them. He tried another spell, and then another and another. They just laid there - as shiny as the first time he laid his eyes upon them. Something tugged and stretched in his heart. Something filled him up and it wasn't fear or dread, it wasn't a feeling of insecurity or self-loathing.
